Volcanic Ash Disruption
Direct Line travel insurance customers affected by the volcanic ash
If your Direct Line policy was bought on or after 21st June 2010 you will not be covered for travel delays and/or cancellations due to a recommendation or order by any government or travel authority.
For example, if an aircraft was unable to leave, or land on its scheduled airport because of volcanic ash in the airspace, then you would not be covered for delayed or missed departure, or abandoning your trip as a result of that situation.
If you have an existing policy that was bought before 21st June 2010, then this cover restriction does not apply.
